Child Care Tax Credit Form

If you have paid someone to care for your children while you work then you may be eligible for the child care tax credit. This credit can help reduce the amount of tax liability that you are responsible for.

This credit is fairly simple to apply for, you will just need to have some information ready:

  • You will need to have you care provider’s tax identification information and their child care certification. This information will need to be entered on Form W-10.

  • All of your daycare related expense amounts as well as your child’s personal information such as social security number. This information will need to be entered on Form 2441.

Do I Qualify?

In order to qualify for this credit you must meet some minimum qualifications. You and your spouse must be working while the care is provided and the care must be provided by someone who is over the age of 19 and cannot be claimed as a dependent on your return.

You may use up to $3,000.00 in qualifying care expenses for one dependent. Then the credit could be as much as 35% of this amount. So this is definitely a credit you won’t want to overlook.

All of these forms can be found at TurboTax Online. TurboTax Online offers free tax forms that are available to use and you will not have to pay anything unless you actually decide to file your return using their service.
